Paramedical Courses at PGIMER, Chandigarh: Applications invited
Chandigarh: Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, has invited applications for admission to the Paramedical Courses for 2018-19.
The following courses are being conducted at P.G.I. Chandigarh: Three-year B.Sc. Medical Technology Programmes are offered in
(i) Laboratory
(ii) Radiodiagnosis &Imaging
(iii) Radiotherapy
(iv) Operation Theatre
(v) Perfusionist. Bachelor of Science Programmes of 3 year duration are offered in
(i) Embalming and Mortuary Science and
(ii) Medical Animation and Audio-visual creation.
There is also the 4 year Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) course and the 4 ½ year Bachelor of Physical Therapies (B.Ph.T) course.
Sponsored/Foreign Nationals are not eligible for stipend from this Institute. Sponsored/Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply for only one subject.
Age Limit:
Applicant should not be more than 25 years and not less than 17 years as on 1st September, 2018. Those born after 1st September, 2001 and before 1st September, 2001 and before 1st September, 1993 are not eligible. For Bachelor of Science in Medical Animation and Audio-visual creation, age limit is minimum 17 years and maximum 30 years on date of commencement of course. Relaxation of age limits as per Government norms.
Selection will be held at Chandigarh during third week of August, 2018 for which the candidates will have to appear for the Entrance Test at their own expenses.
Eligibility:
B.Sc. Med. Tech. (Laboratory/ Radiodiagnosis & Imaging/ Operation Theatre: Applicant should have pass in 10+2 (Science Group) (PCM/PCB) or its equivalent from a recognized Board/ University OR 10+2 (Vocational) passed in the respective stream-Medical Laboratory Technology for Laboratory, X-ray Technology for Radiodiagnosis & Imaging OR Three years Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology for Laboratory from a recognized Board/University.
Fees and other dues:
The following dues are payable to the institute by each candidate admitted to the various courses (i) Registration fee Rs. 200/- (ii) Tuition fee Rs. 250/- (p.a) (iii) Laboratory fee Rs. 120/- (p.a) (iv) Amalgamated Fund Rs. 120/- (p.a) (v) Security (refundable) Rs. 300/-.
Application Fee:
Application fee for General/OBC/SPON/FN candidates is Rs.1000/-. For SC/ST Candidates, it is Rs.800/-. PWD/OPH applicants are exempted from fee. The fee can be deposited in branches of State Bank of India by filling the Challan form in the name of Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh (Examination) in the Power Jyoti Account No. 32211613319. Application fee can also be paid through i-collect service No. 32222954695.
Application:
Online applications and Generation of Challan forms/payment from i-collect can be done up to 14 July 2018. State Bank of India will accept the fees of those applicants whose challan form is generated on or before 14 July 2018 up to 1559 hours on 18 July 2018.
Only one online application is to be submitted for being considered for all the courses. The candidate will fill Online Application form, upload latest scanned photograph (photograph with signature) and signature in available space on the Online Application Form. The candidate will upload all the scanned relevant certificates/annexures. After filling up all the columns the candidate may generate Challan Form and deposit the requisite fee in any Branch of State Bank of India anywhere in India. After that the candidate has to fill the Challan Form No./I-collect No. in the Application Form and take print out of online application form. Roll numbers and Admit cards will be issued to only those candidates who found complete in all respects.
The candidate should ensure to take printout of application form after completing all details. They are not required to send the application form to PGIMER.
Selection:
Admission is made on all India bases by holding an entrance examination to be held at Chandigarh only. Entrance Examination will be held at 10 am on 9.08.2018. Selection will be made strictly in order of merit of the candidates in the respective merit lists of entrance test. The entrance Test will be of 1 ½ hours duration, for all courses. The pattern of question paper differs depending on the course. The structure of the Tests is given in the Prospectus that can be downloaded from http://pgimer.edu.in/PGIMER_PORTAL/PGIMERPORTAL/home.jsp ('Information to candidates' link). Candidates of General/Sponsored/Foreign National categories need to score 50th percentile and those of SC/ST/OBC & PWD, 45th percentile to qualify in the entrance test.
Result declaration will be made at 11 am on 20 August 2018. 1st Counselling will be at 11 am on 23 August 2018 and the second counselling at 11 am on 17 September 2018.
