Odisha: VIMSAR junior doctors back to work
Burla: After a week long of cease work, the Junior doctors of VEER Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) are back to work, bringing healthcare services into normal functioning, here on Friday. Their 5 day strike was called off on Thursday.
Thousands of patients thronged the outdoor of the premier medical institution, this morning.
A fruitful dialogue with the Health Minister Pratap Jena in Bhubaneswar yesterday made the general body of the students’ union take a decision on behalf of the doctors to get back to work.
Th students had gone on an indefinite strike demanding the removal of VIMSAR’s Director Aswini Pujahari from his post.
Meanwhile, an interim arrangement by the state government saw as many as 116 medical PG pass-outs join duty in VIMSAR temporarily.
