Bhubaneswar: The Medical Council of India (MCI) has given its nod to the pioneer Sriram Chandra Bhanj Medical College & Hospital (SCB Medical College) to begin Doctor of Medicine (DM) course in Hepatology from the academic year 2019-20.
The DM Hepatology is a 3-year super speciality course which deals with the branch of medicine that incorporates the study of liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, and pancreas as well as management of their disorders. The doctors go for the said course after completing their PG medical degree. The eligible candidates need to get through NEET SS examination to get admission in super speciality courses.
The government-run SCB Medical College is located at Cuttack. It is one of the renowned medical institutions in the country. It has gained MCI recognition as an ideal undergraduate institution facilitating education and training in super speciality subjects under medical and surgical disciplines.
To begin DM Hepatology, the SCB medical college had sought permission from the MCI.
