NTPC contributes Rs 25 crore towards development of Raigarh Medical College, Chhattishgarh
Chhattishgarh: National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) has granted Rs 25 crore to Raigarh Medical College, Chhattishgarh for its development.
Shri Vinod Choudhary, Regional Executive Director (West-II) of NTPC presented the cheque of 25 crores to Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday, last week.
It is reported that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard had been signed between NTPC and Government of Chhattisgarh on 27th November 2019. Among others, Smt Niharika Barik Singh, Secretary, Department of Health, Family Welfare & Medical Education, Government of Chhattisgarh, Shri M S Ramesh, General Manager (HR) and senior officials of CG Government and NTPC were present.
Government Medical College, Raigarh is also known as Late Shri Lakhiram Agrawal Memorial Government Medical College is located in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. It was established in the year 2013 and is popularly known as GMC Raigarh. It is affiliated to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and Ayush University of Chhattisgarh.

NTPC Limited has committed to extend Rs 100 crore grant for the development of Government Medical College with a larger objective to strengthen healthcare facilities in the district. The amount will be utilised for developing infrastructure, equipment and overall upgradation of the medical college.
NTPC is India's largest power utility with an installed capacity of 57,356 MW (including JVs), plans to become a 130 GW company by 2032. Established in 1975, NTPC aims to be the world's largest and best power major.
