NO MBBS Counselling: DMER Haryana postpones, but no new date given
Haryana: Through a recent notice Department of Medical Education and Research Haryana informed about the postponement of MBBS/BDS counselling. The notice has indeed become a cause of worry with the students as no fresh date has been given, As per MCI norms, the last date of joining medical colleges for MBBS courses is 31st August
The notice states
Earlier, 1st round of counselling was supposed to have taken place on 23.08.2018 and 24.08.2018 and second round of counselling and mop up round on 27.08.2018 and 29.08.2018 respectively.
But no now information is there in the light of the SLP. The petition in the supreme court SLP No. 21893 of 2018 titled as "Principal Secretary to Government of Haryana V/s Nisha Minor through her father.
The genesis of the issue comes when Punjab and Haryana High Court set aside a state government notification allowing quota within quota to Backward Classes candidates on the basis of financial condition. Following the same, the government approached the Supreme Court through an SLP, challenging the said decision. With legal opinion stating that the said court decision making even earlier rounds of counselling invalid, the Government has now completely postponed the counselling with no further dates given

The notice states
It is for the information of all the candidates that in view of the SI.p No 21893 of 2018 filed in the hon'ble Supreme court the counselling scheduled on 23.08.2018 and 24.08.2018 is hereby postponed and the further counselling process is kept on hold. the fresh dates of counselling will be updated soon the candidates are advised to visit the website- www. uhsugadmissions.in www.uhsr.ac.in. and www.dmerharyana.org regularly for further updates.
