No BAMS, BUMS, PG Ayurveda: 26 Ayurveda, One Unani College denied permission

Karnataka: A total of 27 AYUSH colleges including 26 Ayurveda and 1 Unani college in Karnataka have been denied permission to run BAMS, BUMS, and/or PG Ayurveda courses by the Ministry of AYUSH for the academic year 2019-20.

In the Ayurveda colleges, Certain Colleges have been denied permission for running Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) while some colleges have been denied PG Ayurveda courses. Some colleges have been denied both courses for 2019-20. One college has been denied permission to run Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) course

Confirmation to this effect was recently made by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka which in its letter to the deans of the said colleges directed them to strictly follow the instructions given by Government of India and Government of Karnataka regarding the denial and not to make any admissions for the above-said courses for the year 2019-20.

"If any admissions are found to be made, strict action will be taken against such Institutions as per rules." RGUHS in its letter noted

The following AYUSH Colleges have been denied permission to take admissions for UG and PG AYUSH courses for for the year 2019-20.
