    NEET 2020 in 11 languages

    New Delhi: MBBS, BDS and UG AYUSH aspirants who are going for this year's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- NEET 2020, are hereby informed that the test is going to be conducted in 11 languages. The objective of the test prepared in these separate languages is to conduct it with utmost transparency.

    The effect was announced in the information bulletin of NEET 2020 published by its examination authority, National Testing Agency (NTA). The languages in which the NEET 2020 will take place are English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

    For this purpose, the NTA has released the NEET 2020 information bulletin for the concerned candidates in 8 different languages till date. To view, click here

    Candidates have to carefully choose the option of the medium of Question Paper while filling in the Application Form since the option once chosen cannot be changed.

    The application process for NEET 2020 has already started and the window is set to close on 31st December 2019. So the candidates are requested to apply till then.

    The NTA has issued the following instructions regarding the selection of the preferred language for NEET 2020:

    • Candidates opting for English would be provided Test Booklet in English only.

    • Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi.

    • Candidates opting for Regional languages would also be provided Bilingual Test Booklet in selected Regional language and English.

    • In case of any ambiguity in translation of a question in the test, its English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard.

    Candidates qualifying NEET (UG) – 2020 would be eligible for All India Quota and other quotas under the State Governments /Institutes, irrespective of the medium of the examination, subject to other eligibility criteria.

    Last year, controversy had erupted over the erroneous translation of 49 questions in Tamil medium of NEET 2018. While the High Court awarded 196 grace marks to the NEET 2018 candidates, the Supreme Court nullified the same.
