    NEET 2019 Counselling: Finally, Tamil Nadu releases MBBS Rank List; counselling from July 8
    Chennai: After a couple of postponements, the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee has finally declared the provisional merit list for MBBS and BDS 2019 admissions in the state. Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar on Saturday released the rank list for admission.

    With this, the counselling for admission to MBBS will begin with the special categories on July 8. The merit list is based on the NEET exam conducted this year. It has been reported that on the first day, counselling for special categories including ex-servicemen, differently abled will be conducted.

    Two merit lists, one for Management quota and another one for Government quota, have been released by the committee. A total of 31,353 students have been declared as qualified under the government quota list.

    In the government quota, K Shruthi, Tamil Nadu NEET topper secured the first position in the State Rank list with NEET score 685, while, in the management quota, Sodam Sri Nandan Reddy topped the list with a NEET score of 685.

    2. On the homepage itself under the notification section are the direct links to provisional merit lists

    3. Check for your name in the list and save the list for future reference

    "The selection committee will conduct counselling for 3,988 seats available for medical counselling and 562 seats available under management quota this year. This year 350 MBBS seats are increased in govt medical colleges," Bhaskar told
    TOI.


    "Total number of MBBS government seats are 5,400, among them, 580 seats were given for all India quota, and remaining 3,968 are state quota. The total number of government BDS seats are 1,940. The state government added 350 additional MBBS seats this year," the minister added speaking to the press after releasing the rank list.
