Mengaluru: Family of dead medico from A J Institute of Medical Sciences seeks CBI probe

Karnataka: Rohit, a student of A J Institute of Medical Sciences was found dead in a gruesome manner on March 23, 2014. Even two years after his headless body was found near Tannirbhavi, his family (parents) is seeking justice for their son.

According to some recent details emerging on the case, the family is now planning to file a writ petition before the State High Court to get the case transferred to the CBI in their quest for justice.

As stated by the family in its statement, it appears that they are not satisfied with the initial inquiry on the case. It has been noted that Mangaluru City Police and subsequent investigation by state CID has not unfolded clues of the mystery.

Rohit was the son of Radhakrishnan-Sreedevi couple from Pathanmthitta district of Kerala.

As reported by TOI, having dealt with many an accident cases in his 30-years of professional lives, he said even a layman could punch holes in to the police's theory that his son had died in an accident and that a protruding tree branch could have so 'surgically' severed the body from the torso. This and other circumstantial evidence available all point to the fact that Rohit was murdered and the crime scene created to give it an illusion of a road accident, which it was not, asserted Radhakrishnan.

He further expressed his anguish over the matter by implying that there have been many technological advances, however, there has been no direct conclusion of the cause of my son. In addition, he alleged that the role of two of Rohit’s friend, who were supposed to be with him till the last moment has not been properly investigated.

These friends claimed innocence and failed to look for him till next day morning after cleaning and clearing Rohit's flat where they visited for a get-together, he said adding the family is now hoping to get the CBI probe the case with help from the HC.
