Ministry Of Health decides to strengthen India's Tele-medicine services

New Delhi:The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have decided to strengthen the country's Tele-medicine services . Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mr. J.P. Nadda in an address to members of parliament informed that the three key areas to strengthen the service would involve :

A . a centrally sponsored scheme (CSS) amounting to Rs. 103.99 Crores , approved for establishment of National Medical College Network (NMCN), wherein 41 govt. medical Colleges would be networked in the first phase; riding over national knowledge network- high speed bandwidth connectivity, with the purpose of e-Education and e-Healthcare delivery;

B. setting up of new Tele- medicine nodes in collaboration with D/o Space (ISRO) at Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya & Chardhams, Kailash Mansarover, Amarnath and Ayappa pilgrimage places following remote locations;

C. financial and technical support is also being provided to state governments for strengthening and promoting Tele-medicine network under their respective States/ UTs Programme Implementation Plan (PIPs) of National Health Mission (NHM) scheme.

The ministry has developed 'Standard Treatment Guidelines' for different diseases and the same are applicable to Tele-medicine services the minister further stated.
