Telangana: Medical PG courses fee hiked by government in pvt colleges

Hyderabad: A representation from the Deccan College of Medical Sciences & Allied Institutions, Hyderabad for revision of fee because of cost escalation and a demand for payment of new pay scales to teachers has led the government to issue orders for a fee hike in PG courses. The hike will pertain to private unaided minority medical professional institutions and for dental courses for post graduate medical/dental courses, in private un-aided non-minority colleges from the academic year 2017-18.

In the first instance — For all MD/MS/Diploma (Medical courses) — Tuition fee of convener quota seats (50% of total intake capacity): Pre-clinical Degree /Diploma Courses — Rs 3,60,000; Para-clinical Degree /Diploma Courses —RS 6,60,000; Clinical Degree / Diploma Courses: Rs 6,90,000;

Tuition Fee for management quota seats (sub-category 1): Pre-clinical Degree / Diploma Courses — Rs 3,60,000; Para-clinical Degree / Diploma Courses — Rs 6,90,000; Clinical Degree/ Diploma Courses — Rs 24,20,000. For management quota seats (sub-category 2 & 3): Degree Courses / Diploma Courses: not exceeding 3 times of above categories.

The fee stated above is to be paid annually and will be increased by 5% every year. The colleges will collect the fee every year in advance for the concerned year reports the Hindu.

The Telangana State Private Medical & Dental Colleges Managements Association has requested the Government for revision of tuition fee giving similar reasons. Particulars of the tuition fee structure per annum is as follows:

MD/MS/Diploma (Medical courses) Tuition fee of Convener Quota seats (50% of total intake capacity): Pre-clinical Degree /Diploma Courses — ₹3,60,000; Para-clinical Degree /Diploma Courses — ₹6,60,000; Clinical Degree/Diploma Courses: ₹6,90,000.

Tuition Fee for management quota seats (sub-category 1): Pre-clinical Degree /Diploma Courses — ₹3,60,000; Para-clinical Degree /Diploma Courses — ₹ 6,90,000; Clinical Degree/ Diploma Courses — ₹24,20,000. Tuition Fee for management quota seats (Sub-Category 2& 3 not exceeding three times of above fees

For the MDS (Dental courses), the tuition fee of Convener Quota seats (50% of total intake capacity) Para-Clinical Degree Courses — ₹5,25,000; Clinical Degree Courses — ₹5,50,000; Tuition Fee for management quota seats (Sub-Category 1): Para-Clinical Degree Courses — ₹7,00,000; Clinical Degree Courses — ₹10,00,000.

Tuition Fee for management quota seats (Sub-Category 2& 3): Para-Clinical Degree Courses — ₹8,00,000; Clinical Degree Courses — ₹15,00,000. Non clinical degrees include Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine and Radiology.
