MCI recognition to MBBS degree awarded by KNRUHS
New Delhi: Granting recognition to the MBBS degrees awarded by the Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal Telangana State, the Medical Council of India Board of Governors (MBBS) recently approved the change of affiliation of MBBS degrees for Telangana from NTR University of Health Sciences to Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal Telangana. After the bifurcation of the state of Andhra Pradesh into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, KNRUHS was established as a separate dedicated health university for the state of Telangana The university was created in the month of September 2014, being named after a popular Telangana poet, and political activist Kaloji Narayana Rao, while in 2016, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the same. Before the bifurcation, all the medical colleges affiliated to AP were given degrees by the NTR University of Health Sciences. Starting in 2016, Telangana began the disaffiliation of 120 odd colleges from NTRUHS and began affiliating them to KNRUHS. These included colleges from various aspects of medicine including allopathic medical science, dental sciences, nursing, Ayurveda, homoeopathy, Unani, naturopathy, physiotherapy, medical lab technician and nutrition and other public health courses With the completion of the transition, the matter of the recognition of MBBS Degree awarded by Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal Telangana State was recently brought before the MCI Board of Governors. The BoG considered the Vice-Chancellor KNR University of Health Sciences, Telangana vide letter dated 10.02.2016 has informed that Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences has been established by the Government of Telangana vide G.O. Ms. No. 20 Health Medical & Family Welfare (C1), Dated: 26.09.2014 adaptation to the state of Telangana, the NTR University of Health Sciences Act, 1996. The BoGs decided to approve the change of affiliation from NTR University of Health Sciences to Kaloji Narayan Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal Telangana.
