MCI de-recognizes two M.D courses
With a recent gazette notification, the Apex Medical Council has de-recognized two PG Medical Qualifications by deleting them from the relevant schedule of Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000. These qualifications are M.D. (Medical Genetics) as well as M.D. (Infectious Diseases).
The deletion comes as a part of amendment to the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000, with the new notifications being called Postgraduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations, 2017. The amendments have come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette and state the following
NOTE- The above courses are still being offered through D.M ( Doctorate of Medicine) route. The Eligiblity criteria for DM courses are as follows

(ii) M.D. (Infectious Diseases)
