MBBS Admissions in Rajasthan: Mop Up Round Allotment CANCELLED, See Revised Schedule
Jaipur: After massive protests by MBBS aspirants in Rajasthan over alleged irregularities in the NEET 2019 counselling process and the subsequent High Court hearing, the Rajasthan State NEET UG Medical & Dental Admission/Counselling Board 2019 has cancelled the allotment done after mop-up round.
The counselling process came under fire after MBBS students participating in the NEET counselling accused the counselling authority of its carelessness stating that students with lower ranks have been allotted better seats than those with a higher rank as over 705 MBBS seats were vacant even after two rounds of counselling.
Apart from these 705 seats, 665 BDS seats are also vacant.
Students alleged that seats allotted in the Round 1 session to candidates who took admission outside the states were blocked. Even though the counselling board delayed the Round 2 to complete mapping of seats, the blocked seats were not given to the students in the second round of counselling, rather they were put up on offer in the mop-up round.
The matter then reached the high court which in response to plea submitting that due to lack of transparency, the aspirants do not know which medical colleges have vacancy; directed that not only the medical colleges had to make public the number of seats available but also give sufficient time for aspiring candidates to seek admission in such seats.
Hence, as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India (MCI) and the arguments made before High Court, the counselling board has now cancelled the seat allotment done after mop-up round except for NRI candidates. Revised Mop-up Round will be held on 17th & 18th August 2019.
The information to this effect was recently uploaded on the official website of the counselling authority which clearly states the following:
The allotments, made in Mop-up Round, held on 11th & 12th August 2019 are hereby cancelled with immediate effect, except for the allotments on NRI seats.
Revised Mop-up Round will be held on 17th & 18th August 2019.
Candidates who have resigned with forfeiture clause from their allotted seats of Round 1/ Round 2 are not eligible for participation in the upcoming Revised Mop-up Round. Such candidates who have participated in the Mop-up Round, held on 11th & 12th August, 2019 and have been allotted a seat are directed to join their previous allotment of Round 1 / Round 2 by 4.00 pm of 16th August 2019, otherwise their seats of Round 1 / Round 2 will be considered as vacant for the upcoming Revised Mop-up Round.
The Revised Mop-up Round of allotment on seats remaining vacant after Round 2, with the candidates who have applied for Rajasthan State NEET UG Counseling 2019 till 09.08.2019, will be held as below:
