MBBS Admissions in Punjab: BFUHS begins Round 2 Counselling for 1,437 vacant seats; View Schedule here
Faridkot: The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot has begun the Round 2 NEET counselling process for MBBS and BDS admissions for this academic year to a total of 1,437 seats which were left vacant after the first phase of the counselling session.Candidates who are vying for admission to Punjab based medical and dental colleges; can view the counselling schedule for ROund 2 session and the details of the vacant seats mentioned below:2nd round of Physical Counseling for Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses under NEET 20192nd round of Physical Counseling for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses NEET 2019 for State Quota Seats in Govt. Colleges and all seats of Private Colleges / Private Universities/Minority Institutions of State of Punjab will be held at Auditorium, GGS Medical College, Faridkot. The schedule of counselling is as under:-
(1) Six months Tuition Fee from the selected candidates will be collected at the venue of the counselling in the shape of Demand Draft in favour of Registrar, BFUHS, payable at Faridkot. Neither cash/cheque nor online payment & part payment will be accepted.(2) Candidates will bring all original certificates/documents and hard copy of online application form at the counselling venue.(3) Terms and conditions/process for counselling shall be as per the notice and FAQ posted on the website of MCC i.e. mcc.nic.in and University from time to time. For details and updates visit Important NoticeAll the candidates of any category are requested to stay at the counselling venue on 07.09.2019 till the last seat is filled. The candidate shall only be responsible for any consequences if he/she leaves the venue before the counselling is declared closed. No claim shall be entertained thereafter.Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that after facing legal tangles, the admission to MBBS and BDS courses was delayed by more than a month. The Supreme Court has directed the BFUHS to complete the admissions process by September 7.
According to a recent report by HT, in the eight medical colleges across the state, 513 of the 1,225 MBBS seats are vacant. This also includes 45 all-India quota MBBS seats, which were reverted to the state.70 of the 250 MBBS seats are vacant at Government Medical College, Amritsar, 82 of 225 seats at Government Medical College, Patiala, and 45 of the 125 seats at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot.However, in 15 dental colleges in the state, of the 1,230 BDS seats in private and government colleges, only 306 seats have been allotted during the online counselling session held by the BFUHS. An official said 924 BDS seats, including 11 under the all-India quota, remained vacant.A BFUHS official said the admission for 1,437 vacant MBBS and BDS seats would take place during the second round of counselling scheduled between September 3 and 6. "One last counselling round will be held on September 7 to fill seats that fell vacant after the second round of counselling due to shifting of candidates in different categories," the official added while talking to the daily.
