MBBS Admission Fraud: MBA graduate Arrested for duping Rs 25 lakh from Medical Aspirant

Bhubaneshwar: In yet another case of an MBBS seat fraud, a man has been arrested for cheating a medical aspirant of an alleged sum of Rs 25 lakh with a promise of an MBBS seat at a government-run medical college.

Certain sources have informed the local daily Odisha TV that the accused has a history of duping people by assuring them of help in getting jobs in different public and private companies and admissions in medical colleges.

The accused came into the hands of the police after one Trilochan Barik, father of a medical aspirant was deceived of Rs 25 lakh in lieu of a promised MBBS seat at government-run medical college. It has been reported that the accused assured the father that he would help his MBBS aspirant son get a seat in a medical college.

However, when the MBBS aspirant failed to get admission in any of the medical colleges, the father moved the police and lodged a complaint against the accused in a case of fraud.

Following the accused man’s arrest, the police seized his belongings worth over Rs 30 lakh including a car, one bike, LED TV, computer, printer, two branded mobile phones and four luxury watches, adds Odisha TV.

“He was living a luxurious life by doing such things. He was arrested on 7^th October. We will bring him on remand to elicit more information,” Khurda SP, Dipti Ranjan Ray confirmed to the daily.

The accused, identified as one Pradosh Dash of Naugaon area in Jagatsinghpur district, reportedly an MBA graduate has been arrested by the Khurda Industrial Area Outpost Police from an apartment near Janla
