MGM Medical College: HoDs asked to teach hospital staff etiquettes
Indore: Etiquettes seem to becoming priority with the Dean of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC), Dr. Sharad Thora, who has directed the HoDs of all departments to teach etiquettes to the junior doctors and staff working under them.
Addressing HOD's at a meeting on Tuesday, Dr Thora spoke about the observed deteriorating behavior of junior doctors with the patients and their attendants during a recent inspection of the hospital.
"Yes, we have directed them to teach the staff working under them to behave properly with the patients. If patients know everything then why would he come to the doctor and they need proper counselling and information regarding their disease and treatment," Dr Thora told reports Free Press Journal.
The Heads of Department also took a decision to appoint an outside agency from Delhi or Mumbai to complete the infrastructural work of the paediatric OT. The decision to give the job to an outsider was taken because the Public Works Department has refused to undertake the work.
Last year two infants had breathed their last due to a mix up of nitro us oxide with oxygen in the operation theater. The HODs have also taken a decision to appoint Dr. Arvind Ganghoriya as the public relations man for the hospital.
