    Kota: Hostel Manager rapes NEET aspirant

    Kota: Hostel Manager rapes NEET aspirant

    Kota: A premier medical institute student residing in Kota to take NEET coaching is alleged to have been repeatedly raped by the manager of her hostel in Indira Vihar, under Jawaharnagar police station area.The manager, a resident of Bihar was arrested by the police on Wedneday.


    The girl had lodged a complaint with the police two days ago. The accused has been booked under Section 376 of the IPC and POCSO Act. He was sent for a one day remand, after having been produced in Court, on Wednesday.


    The 17 year old rape survivor, a native of Maharashtra, had been in Kota for the last two years, being coached for the forthcoming medical entrance test.


    The accused has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Suman, 30 years of age.


    The rape survivor, a native of Maharashtra, was taking NEET coaching from this premier coaching institute in Kota, since last two years.


    The accused has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Suman , 30 years of age.


    According to CI, Jawaharnagar police station, Neeraj Gupta, the accused forced the victim into a sexual act, a few days ago. The crime was repeated by him another time. The girl’s protest led to her being threatened of dire consequences, informed the police.


    The hostel has been running under the supervision of the accused for the past several years, said the police.


    Medical examination of the victim has been done. Further investigations in the matter are underway, they said.


    Around 1.75 lakh students, including a large number of girls, come to Kota from across the country to take coaching for competitive examinations at the institute. They get accommodation in hostels and guest houses, where security is slack.


    Last year, the local administration had issued guidelines to the hostel association barring males in girls' hostels; however, the guidelines have not yet been implemented, reports TOI.
