KGMU girl to receive 20 medals on Convocation Day

Lucknow: Aparajita Chaturvedi will bring honour to KGMU by becoming a recipient 20 medals, the highest in number, including three of the most coveted KGMU awards called the Hewett gold medal, Chancellor's medal and the University Honours medal at the college's 13^th Convocation. KGMU will be celebrating its Convocation and 113^th Foundation day on December 23^rd and 24^th when it honours its students and medal recipients

A total of 177 medals will be conferred together on both days, with 31 being given away at the Convocation, in the presence of Chief Guest, Prof BM Hegde, Chairman World Academy of Authentic Healing Sciences, Karnataka.

Prof MK Mitra will be awarded the Dr KK Bhatia gold medal and lifetime achievement award for the eminent faculty member (past or present) of medicine and allied super-speciality. Prof Pradeep Tandon, Head of the Orthodontics department will be conferred with the BC Roy award.

Prof GK Rath, Director, National Cancer Institute and Professor, Sudhir Gupta, professor of medicine, pathology & laboratory medicine and microbiology & molecular genetics at the University of California, will be recipients of Honoris Causa degrees on the Convocation day, reports TOI.

39 MBBS, 30 BDS, and four nursing and 73 sports medals will be given away to students on the Foundation Day.
