Key Updates of SC NEET hearing today
With the NEET hearing going on today, a number of states made their representations before the hon'be court. While MCI made its submissions, different states came out objecting to NEET 2016 arguing different reasons.

On behalf of the State of Gujrat and its students, Sr Advocate TUSHAR MEHTA began the argument stating that students of Gujrati Medium are going to have big problems while ansering the question paper, as Gujarati student wont be able to write the answer in English, even if he knows the answers as terminologies are different in both the languages. The senior advocate pointed out that currently there are 64377 students in Gujarati medium, & students are expecting single window test for MBBS,BHMS,BPT,Nursing etc. Out of these 64k Gujarati medium students, only 24k have applied for AIPMT; which is not even 50%

Moreover, Gujarat says that 30% of the NEET syllabus is different from what they have been preparing till now; students will massively fail. Students would be asked questions from 11th & 12th as well; it shall be difficult for gujrati students to get prepared in such a short notice

Similarly, Sr Adv Shyam Dhawan Arguing for the State of Maharashtra, highlighted that Maharashtra CET 2016 was conducted today, wherein 4 lakh students from Maharashtra have appeared thus praying that 'As far as Maharashtra is concerned, NEET should be exempted." Additionally, the adv stated that those students who appeared in May 1st exam be allowed to appear in 2nd phase of exam as well.

Maharashtra govt has stated before that it shall be ready to conduct NEET from 2018 onwards

Sr Advocate Gopal Subramaniyam representing State of J&K pointed out J&K never gave seats in All India PMT stating that "Education is a state subject, as far as J&K & MCI is concerned"

Meanwhile ASG Ranjit Kumar handed over MCI regulation and made submission on that.

The matter has been relisted for tomorrow at 2 PM with all applicants being asked to submit their submissions in 1 page. All the counsels of different states have pointed out each of them have different prayers regarding the NEET matter
