Kerala: Fresh dates for Kerala Medical College admissions
Thiruvananthapuram: The time schedule for MBBS admissions to Kerala Medical College, Palakkad has been modified, with the online submission of application fixed as September 19, by the Justice James Committee.
The committee issued an order on Monday fixing September 22 as the date of publication for the list of eligible candidates. September 22 has also been fixed as the last date of receipt of printout of online applications, with DD, by the college.
The first round of counselling of applicants is to be held on September 24 and the last date for the second counselling round is meant to be on September 27.
The Justice James Committee order stated that though the prospectus of Kerala Medical College was approved and time schedule of admission was also issued on September 2, the Admission Supervisory Committee later withdrew the approval. However, the High Court was approached by the Medical College for grant of affiliation.The last date up to which students can be admitted against vacant seats arising due to any reasons would be September 30. The college will further announce the commencement date of the college’s academic session later.
KUHS was later directed by the High Court to grant a provisional affiliation to the Medical College to enable it to admit students, in accordance with the schedule fixed by the ASC.
KUHS has now granted affiliation to the college. “The MC has now submitted a request before ASC requesting it to extend time limit for receiving the applications up to Sept 17,” the order said, adding that considering this, ASC decided to give an opportunity to the college.
