Kerala CM to lay foundation stone for 1st International Ayurveda Research Institute on Feb 22
Kannur: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will lay the foundation stone for the country's first International Ayurveda Research Institute at Kallyad here on February 22.

After visiting the project site with top officials on Sunday, Health Minister K K Shailaja said 36 acres of land have been acquired so far, of the total 300 acres of land required, for the centre-state joint project with the estimated cost of Rs 300 crore. The rest of the land acquisition will be completed by June 2019.
The proposed Research Institute will have 100-bedded hospital facilities and a modern Ayurveda Research Center from the beginning.

The main mission of the research institute is to procure the patent of herbal medicines.
