Karnataka: Several senior doctors vying for the Director position at BMCRI

Bengaluru: With superannuation for Dr PK Devdas, Dean and Director of Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) round the bend, the race for the premier position at the institute has begun. The Directorate of Medical Education(DME) will be issuing a notification inviting applications for the position shortly.

Medical Education, Director, Sachidananda S.,Superintendent of Victoria Hosptial, H.S. Satish, and Heads of the Departments of Surgery,Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, and Pulmonary Medicine in BMCRI — Sheshagiri Rao K., Raghavendra Rao R.S., H. Chandrashekar, and Nagaraja C., respectively, are the senior most in the institute names in the race as they meet the seniority criteria for the position reports the Hindu.

The appointment period for three years or till superannuation calls for the aspirant to have at least two years of service period left. Medical Education Minister, Sharan Prakash R. Patil said the selection would be made from one among the senior most.
