Karnataka Medical College Final Year MBBS Student hangs self
Dharwad: In an unfortunate incident, a final year MBBS student has committed suicide at his residence on 12th February. The deceased medico was attached with Belagavi-based KLE Society's Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College.
According to the police, it's still not certain as to why the MBBS student took this drastic step.
TOI reports that the 23-year-old deceased MBBS student was a resident of Pande Chawl. He was discovered hanging to the ceiling in his room by his brother.

The unfortunate incident took place on February 12, Tuesday. The deceased MBBS student's brother returned to his residence at around 1:30 pm that day. He knocked on the door but got no response. To call his brother to open up the door, he went to a window and to his horrid shock, he found his elder brother hanging to the ceiling.
He took help of his neighbours and immediately called up the police and informed them about the incident.

After arriving, the Suburban Police station workforce broke open the door and took hold of the body. They later sent the student's body for autopsy to the District Civil Hospital.
Police officials investigating the case informed TOI that they were yet to ascertain the exact reason for the MBBS student committing suicide. They would investigate all angles before coming to a conclusion.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about a case where a final year MBBS student at the Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak (PGIMS Rohtak), had allegedly committed suicide at his hostel room on the institute campus by consuming a poisonous substance.
The student was depressed after his mother's death last year and had been lagging behind his studies.
