Karnataka: MCI cautions students against fake whatsapp, email notifications

Bengaluru: The Medical Council of India(MCI), in a notification dated 13^th April, 2017 has cautioned medical aspirants against ''Fake, Forged & Fabricated Notification regarding Common Counselling for Postgraduate Courses".

The Council advisory states:

"It has come to the notice of the Medical Council of India that a notification relating to filling up of seats under NRI category and management quota by Medical Colleges on their own is being circulated in the electronic media [What's App and Email].Such notification bears the date 11 th April 2017 is not signed and it has not been published by the Medical Council of India. This notification is fake, forged and fabricated"

The notice clearly states that the date of this fabricated unsigned document as 11^th April, 2017. Calling it the work of unscrupulous elements, the education regulator informed that it is in the process of lodging a complaint with the Authorities against unknown persons who have indulged in this criminal act.

It appears to be the handiwork of unscrupulous elements trying to disrupt the admission process through common counselling on the inter se merit of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test. The Council is in the process of lodging complaint with the Authorities in this regard against unknown persons who have indulged in this criminal act.

Through the notice the counsel was found reiterating its recent notification on Common Counselling" for Postgraduate Courses asking all to refer to the same

The notification relating to "Common Counselling" for Postgraduate Courses" has been published in "The Gazette of India" on March 11, 2017. It is placed on the MCI website under the e-gazette link available on the bottom of MCI homepage: http://www.mciindia.org. All concerned are advised to obtain the correct copy of the notification from MCI website and cautioned not to be misled by fake, forged and fabricated documents circulating in electronic media
