JIPMER organises workshop on Health System Strengthening

Puducherry: The Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Jipmer in collaboration with the School of Public Health, PGIMER-Chandigarh will organize the four-day“ First National Workshop on "Health System Strengthening” from September 26.

A Jipmer release said the workshop is focused on building capacity for Health Systems, strengthening to achieve Universal Health Care, through the application of Systems Approach, Problem Analysis Techniques, Implementation Research, Supportive Supervision and Inter-sectoral coordination, Logistic management, Motivation, Communication, Leadership and Conflict Management.

Participants including medical officers, postgraduate students, senior residents and medical college faculty from various states in the country were participating in the workshop.

Faculty from Jipmer and PGIMER-Chandigarh and programme managers from various NGO’s like WHO, UNICEF and State Health & Family Welfare Department will train the participants during these four days.

Jipmer Director Dr. S C Parija will inaugurate the workshop on September 26 in the presence of Dr. K.C. Premarajan, Professor and Head of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Dr. Gautam Roy, Senior Professor, Department of Preventive and Social Medicine. Dr. Arun Kumar Agarwal from School of Public Health, Chandigarh, an eminent expert in this field among others.
