JIPMER MBBS 2018: Application Last date on 13th April
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) will close the online registration for JIPMER MBBS 2018 entrance examination on April 13 this week. The entrance examination will be held on June 3, 2018. Hall ticket or admit card for the test will be released on May 21 and the same will be made available for the applicants till June 3, the date of the examination.
Through JIPMER MBBS 2018, students will be admitted to JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal.
There are 150 MBBS seats at JIPMER Puducherry and 50 seats at JIPMER Karaikal.
According to the official JIPMER notification, if the entrance exam is conducted in single shift, then it will be conducted from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and if it is conducted in two shifts, then the second shift will be from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
To be eligible for JIPMER MBBS 2018 exam, the candidate must have completed Higher/Senior Secondary Exam or any other exam which is equivalent to 10+2 after a 12 year period of study, the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (which shall include practical elements in all these subjects) or any other elective with English.
The candidate must have passed in Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have 60% marks taken together in Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology in the qualifying examination. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/OPH category, minimum marks requirement is 50%.
Those applying for JIPMER MBBS 2018 must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31, 2018. There is no upper age limit.
Note: Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying examination in March / April 2018 and whose results have NOT yet been declared can also apply for admission, if other eligibility criteria (i) (ii) & (iii) are satisfied.

The Academic fees should be paid by each candidate at ACADEMIC SECTION, JIPMER on the counselling day after the completion of counseling process.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS COURSE AT JIPMER:
- The Applicant should be an Indian National / Overseas Citizen of India.
- He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December 2018, the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S., i.e. they should have been born on or before 01-01-2002. (Request for relaxation from the prescribed age limit will not be considered for any category of applicants).
- No upper age limit.
- The applicants should have passed the qualifying examinations in the manner mentioned below:
(a) The Higher / Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher / Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) or any other elective with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education (Annexure - I lists the examinations recognized by JIPMER) - The Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than those mentioned in the list appended in Annexure – I, will have to submit an Eligibility Certificate before admission is finalized. Obtaining such an Eligibility Certificate from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi is essential for OCI/NRI for admission to JIPMER M.B.B.S. Course.
- The applicant must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.
- For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes / OPH the minimum marks obtained in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology taken together in the qualifying examination is 50%.
- For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribe or Other Backward Classes / OPH the minimum marks obtained in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Bio-technology taken together in the qualifying examination is 50%.
Note: Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing in the qualifying examination in March / April 2018 and whose results have NOT yet been declared can also apply for admission, if other eligibility criteria (i) (ii) & (iii) are satisfied.

- Candidates seeking admission to entrance examination are required to apply on-line mode only. (Any other mode of application will not be accepted.)
- Log on to link in the Home page www.jipmer.puducherry.gov.in and navigate to the link “Apply on-line MBBS admission – 2018”.
- Read the prospectus and instruction carefully.
- The flow chart for filling application on-line given as Appendix (ANNEXURE – V) in the Prospectus.
- The candidate should acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to filling up the application online.
