JIPMER Karaikal branch to get full-fledged infrastructure at cost of Rs 491 crore
Puducherry: Karaikal branch of JIPMER will have full-fledged infrastructures at a cost of Rs 491.7 crore.
A release from JIPMER said today that a MOU was inked between the institute and the CPWD (project management consultant) envisaging construction of the infrastructures for the premier institute in its Karaikal branch.
Deputy Director (Administration) of JIPMER Gautam Roy representing the institute and the Executive Engineer (Civil) of CPWD signed the MOU.
Director of JIPMER S C Parija who was among those present said in the release that the institute in Karaikal started two years ago would be having full fledged infrastructure facilities.
G K Pal, the Dean of JIPMER (Karaikal) said that construction of hostels for students and renovation and modernisation of the Puducherry Government Hospital in Karaikal would be among the important projects that would be implemented as part of the infrastructures.
The hospital adopted by JIPMER would be used for clinical training and training of students, he said.
