Indore: MGM Medical College and MY Hospital inspected by MCI

Indore: A three member Medical Council of India(MCI) team visited the MGM Medical College on Monday to do an appraisal on infrastructure, faculty appointments and adequate facilities at the institution. The inspection was undertaken to take a decision on the future of the increased 10 MBBS seats on the basis of a court directive. The September 2015 and May 2016 inspections conducted by the MCI teams had found many deficiencies, including the library lacking space.

" A three member team of the MCI inspected the college and the MY hospital. They reviewed facilities and infrastructure available at the colleges.The team also verified whether deficiencies pointed out by another MCI team last time were eliminated or not," said Dr. Sanjay Dutt, Head PSM Department, MGM Medical College.

The team that visited the college comprised of Dr. Anup Kumar Saha fromTripura, Dr. Rajiv Kumar Mishra from Uttar Pradesh, and Dr. CHN Raj Kumari from Andhra Pradesh.

Elaborating on the inspection Dr. Dutt told the Free Press Journal, " It is a regular inspection of the MCI. The team visited departments, head count of faculty in each department and hostel was done."

The visiting inspecting team took note of the space crunch in the library and hostel capacity. A compliance report with regards to this has been submitted to the peer team.
