Illegal houses in Goa Medical College premises to be razed
Panaji: Over a dozen houses built illegally within the premises of state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) at Bambolim near here will be demolished.
"The Government has directed GMCH administrator Sachin Shinde to ensure that all the 13 houses illegally constructed within the premises are shifted out immediately," Health Minister Francis DSouza told reporters.
The presence of illegal houses within GMCH complex was pointed out by a probe committee headed by retired Collector N D Agarwal.
"The administrator has been asked to work on plugging the leakages as the hospital regularly faces water scarcity," said DSouza, who is Deputy Chief Minister.
The Agarwal report has pointed to lacunae in the affairs of GMCH and these will be fixed, he assured.
