Simla : Girl using fraudulent disability certificate caught at IGMCH

Shimla: Things went far when a girl was caught cheating by allegedly producing a false disability certificate, to seek an MBBS course admission at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital

IGMCH Principal, Prof Ashok Sharma claimed that the girl produced a disability certificate during the first round of counselling for MBBS admission conducted at the college on September 3. He alleged that when the counselling committee verified this certificate, it was found it to be fake.

The police after registering a cheating case sought the entire documentation submitted by the girl to the college, for verification at the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Junga.

Officials got suspicious when they saw the girl walk over to the counselling center on her own, much against the stated fact on her certificate declaring a walking disability. Interestingly the hospital that issued the disability certificate to the girl has also denied issuance.

The principal on getting the information of fraud on the part of the girl, immediately, formed a medical board.
