“In the next 3 years, 45 of the 75 districts in the state will be having medical colleges, which would not only prevent the flight of capital from this state to other but also check brain drain,” Rajneesh dubey, Principal secretary of the medical education department told TOI.
He further added that this will give a boost to produce more doctors and overcome the shortage of doctors in the government hospitals as the strength of the medical students will increase to nearly double from 2200 to 4500.
He also informed that the central government has approved 13 more medical colleges by upgrading many existing district hospitals. Construction of 8 medical colleges is already on and apart from this, construction of 5 medical college is in full swing.
