    National Board of Examinations (NBE) has invited applications for admission to the screening test for Indian Nationals with Foreign Medical Qualifications, the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), June-2018, to be held on 29th June, 2018, as a Computer Based examination at various test centres across the country.


    Indian citizen / Overseas citizen of India (OCI) who have primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India and desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002, have to qualify the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE)/Screening Test, as per the Screening Test Regulations 2002.



    Eligibility:


    Applicant must be a citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India. Applicant must possess a primary medical qualification, which is confirmed by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated. The Cut-off date for obtaining the Primary Medical Qualification is 31st May, 2018.


    There are no restrictions on number of attempts that can be availed by an applicant.


    Applicants/Candidates may also refer to Screening Test Regulations and Regulations on Graduate Medical Education, Eligibility Certificate Regulations issued by Medical Council of India. The same may be referred to at www.mciindia.org or obtained from Secretary, Medical Council of India, Sector-8 Pocket-14, Dwarka, New Delhi.


    Those who hold an Under Graduate medical qualification from Australia/ Canada/ New Zealand/United Kingdom/United States of America and the holder has also been awarded a Post Graduate medical qualification in Australia/Canada/New Zealand/ United Kingdom/United States of America and has been recognized for enrolment as medical practitioner in that country, seeking provisional or permanent registration in India, need not the Screening Test.



    Application:


    Application for FMGE June 2018, can be submitted only online at https://nbe.edu.in/, latest by 31st May, 2018.

    The Fee for the Examination is Rs. 5500/- which should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks of India or through Net Banking.

    Exam Cities:


    The Examination Centres include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi/New Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Sikar, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam.

    The computer based exam to be held on 29th June, 2018 will have one paper, comprising 300 questions, delivered in two parts to be taken in a single day. Part A will be from 9 am to 11.30 am and Part B from 2 pm to 4.30 pm and each part will have 150 questions. The Syllabus for the test is given in the Information Bulleting that can be downloaded from the FMGE link at https://nbe.edu.in/.

    Questions will be multiple choice, single correct response type in English language only. Each correct response carries one mark. There is no negative marking for wrong responses marked.

    The results for the test are likely to be declared by 31st July 2018. An applicant will be declared as having passed, only if he/she obtains a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 in the examination.

    Results (Pass/Fail) for eligible candidates will be displayed on NBE website.
