Fill up administrative posts with medicos: TAMCOT
Kangra: The Teachers Association of Medical College Tanda (TAMCOT) today raised the issue of filling of the posts of Director National Health Mission and Administrative officers in medical colleges as Additional Directors should be filled from amongst the college faculty only as nonmedical persons holding these posts are leading to implementation problems of national programmes and wastage of money unnecessarily.
TAMCOT President Dr R S Jaswal today told UNI that association has brought to the notice of the state government that many unnecessary meetings are called by the NHM Director just to satisfy ego and when the medical faculty reaches Shimla no meeting is held as the Director remains unavailable for the same.
He said that the points to be discussed in these meetings could very well be communicated through mail or on phone.
TAMCOT alleged that the nonmedicos were just interested in decorating and furnishing their offices only.
TAMCOT further demanded that the extension in service to administrative posts like HODs , Principals of medical colleges and DME in Medical Education department after the age of 62 years should be stopped immediately as it is not serving the purpose of staff requirement in colleges and only few people remain serving on these administrative posts for more than 10 years.
