Dry Bihar: Two Doctors caught drinking at Medical College, one now absconding
Patna: The dry state of Bihar underwent fervent activity when a go ahead search was launched at the Patna Medical College (PMC) students hostel for contraband, on Thursday, by a five member Committee. The search followed a drunken brawl between two doctors on the campus premises, in a state termed as dry by authorities.
The authorities have been able to nab one of the two, while the other is reported missing. The search was carried out, as officials felt that chances of seizing liquor bottles in the hostel were high.
The one miscreant doctor who was arrested on Wednesday, has also tested positive in the breath analyzer test.
Dr.Kumar, a final year post graduate diploma student of Tuberculosis and Chest diseases at the Patna Medical College however, stated that he had been framed because he had had an unpleasant exchange with a colleague reports Hindustan Times .
Dr. Sanjay K. Baitha, the other accused is a PG final year pathology student and is reported missing after the incident. Both Kumar and Baitha have graduated from Darbhanga Medical College.
The search committee looking into the incident is headed by Professor and Head of Department of Surgery-Dr Ajit Bahadur Singh. The other members of the Committee include: District Magistrate, PMCH officer on Special Duty, Dr Kumar Arun, & Superintendents of the respective hostels, along with a police representative, said Principal, PMCH.
Currently PMCH houses 8 hostels-6 for boys and two for girls, housing a total of 1,350 medicos, which are under the search raidar of the authorities.
