DMER Maharashtra releases Seat matrix of Private, Government Dental Colleges for MDS seats
Maharashtra: With the results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to Post Graduation Dental courses (NEET MDS) being announced, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research Maharashtra (DMER) has released the Seat Matrix of NEET MDS-2019 of Private and Government Dental Colleges.
There are a total of 380 PG dentistry seats in private dental colleges and only 34 seats in government dental colleges in the state.
In the 9 PG dental specialities; Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics has the highest number of 70 MDS seats in self-financing dental colleges. Meanwhile, in Government run dental institutes Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge has the highest number of seats.
While Public Health Dentistry received 6 seats at private dental institutes, government dental colleges got none.
Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics got the second highest number of seats with 67 at private institutes, the speciality got only 2 at government dental colleges.
To pursue Masters in Dentistry (MDS), one has to qualify NEET MDS , results of which were declared recently.
