Complaint under IPC 420 against NEET Coaching Centre for providing poor facilities
Over 300 MBBS aspirants took admission at the Institute for NEET preparation where they were charged Rs 46,000. The coaching institute allegedly took Rs 20,000 as the advanced payment.

Namakkal: A complaint has been filed against a city-based private NEET coaching centre for allegedly cheating them by providing poor facilities to the students. The case has been registered under IPC Sections 267, 406, 420, 506 (1).

According to a media report, the residential NEET coaching centre, run by a 36-year-old M Udhayakumar, was functioning in the campus of a private college. The coaching institute offered NEET crash course.

Over 300 MBBS aspirants took admission in the institute where they were charged Rs 46,000 each. The coaching institute allegedly took Rs 20,000 as the advanced payment.

A student claimed that they were provided with poor quality food and facilities in the institute. The students claimed that nearly 20 students were accommodated in the same room.

According to police, nearly 200 students dropped the course and returned to their home town, reports the Hindu.

The parents of a few students came up with the same issue based on which Velagoundampatty police station filed a complaint against the NEET coaching centre.

The police began it's investigating regarding the matter.

Medical Dialogues team earlier reported that the Madras High Court permitted private matriculation schools to conduct coaching sessions during summer break for class XI and XII students who wish to appear in NEET.

Justices N Kirubakaran and S S Sundar gave the direction on a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) from Vijayaraghavan, who sought to quash a Government Order (GO) that private schools should not hold coaching classes during the summer vacation and that action would be taken against them for violation of the order.

The director of matriculation schools submitted that they had issued the order following complaints from parents that private schools were profiteering by collecting coaching fees for various competitive examinations.
