Coimbatore Medical College gets additional PG seat approval from MCI
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Medical College(CMC), has been granted sixteen additional post graduation seats for different departments by the Medical Council of India for the academic year 2017-18.
The maximum number of seats have gone to the Department of Anaesthesiology, whose seat strength has increased from three to seven. The Department of Surgery's MS course has been given a seat raise from sixteen to eighteen. The Department of Dermatology, Venerology and Leprology has been granted one seat for MD Dermatology, in addition to the already existing two.
MD Biochemistry,MD Forensic Medicine and MD Pharmacology will have three seats each from next academic year slot at CMC.
The approval for new seats is in accordance with the revised teacher student ratio, as per the notification dated January 31, for the present academic year, informed the college authorities.
Eight other colleges in the state have been granted additional seats reports Hindu.
