CM sanctions Rs 75,000 for education expenses of medical aspirant
Chennai: AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa sanctioned Rs 75,000 towards the educational expenses of a poor medical aspirant.
Jayalalithaa has borne the entire medical education expenses of Mekala, hailing from Puthukottai district, following a plea from the girl, a party release said.
The girl had pleaded for assistance with the Chief Minister citing her poor economic background, it said, adding she had received admission at Tirunelveli Medical College and Hospital.
Jayalalithaa, who will be bearing the entire educational expenses of the girl, has sanctioned Rs 75,000 towards tuition fee and others for the first year from the 'Puratchi Thalaivi Amma Best Charitable Trust," it said.
