CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurates Fakir Mohan Medical College , 100 more MBBS seats in Odisha Quota
Balasore: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated Fakir Mohan Medical College and Hospital in Balasore on Monday. Minister of State Health Ashwini Choubey also attended the inauguration ceremony.
With the inauguration begins the journey of the Balasore medical college with 100 MBBS seats in the medical college being added for the 2018-19 academic session.
On the occasion, CM Patnaik said that the hospital is a long cherished dream of the locals that has come true. "This will help to achieve quality healthcare service and medical education in the region".
The Medical College has been named after renowned Odia poet
Earlier this year, following the instructions from the Medical Council of India (MCI), Ministry of Health had granted Letter of Permission (LOP) to the government-run Medical Colleges in Balasore and Bolangir to commence admissions from this year 2018-19.
The MCI had also granted permission for 100 seats each in 2nd year at PRM MCH, Baripada & SLNMCH Koraput along with 250 seats each at SCB MCH Cuttack and MKCG MCH at Berhampur.
Last week, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda inaugurated the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir on Friday.
