Chandigarh: Term extension for GMCH director
Punjab: The much speculated extension of the tenure of Dr Atul Sachdev, Director-cum-Principal, GMCH (Government Medical College and Hospital) , Sector 32, has been put to rest by the Chandigarh Administration.
Dr Atul’s term has been extended by one year. His three-year tenure ends in April 2016. So, now he will be the official authority by another one year term granted recently by the Chandigarh administration.
Dr Sachdev was appointed as the Director in April 2013. However, the post of the Director was under highlight recently as Dr Sachdev’s three year term was coming to an end in April this year. Simultaneously, there was a demand from the faculty members at the college to advertise the post.
As reported by Tribune, Dr Sachdev has been given an extension at a time when some faculty members are demanding that the post be advertised.
Anurag Agarwal, Health Secretary, UT, confirmed that Dr Sachdev's tenure had been extended by a year.
