Businessman conned of Rs 10 lakh promise of MBBS admission at Karnataka Medical college

Bangalore: In yet another medical admission fraud coming out of the state of Karnataka, a parent of a medical aspirant got duped with the promise of MBBS admission at BR Ambedkar Medical College.
The Dream to see his son take admission Medical College ended up with a fraud for a Kerala based businessman who reportedly got conned of Rs 10 lakhs.
The latest incident concerns a 44 year old businessman, one Shynianto K.D. from Thrissur who filed an FIR with the police informing that while in the month of August, he was searching for medical colleges for his son online, he received a call from one Subhashith Pathi, who promised him a seat in BR Ambedkar Medical College through his connections at Karnataka Examination Authority.
On 23rd August, the parent met Pathi & one Anil Mukherjee who asked him to transfer 10 Lakh Rupees with promise of the medical admission and told him to meet them at the medical college on August 30th, 2018 for the admission process.
Shynianto K.D. transferred the money and as discussed reached the medical college on 30th August but Pathi and Mujherjee didn’t show up. When he called them, they promised to refund the money as there were some problems with the admission. However, the money never came and the men's mobile soon became untraceable
According to the police, the accused, Subhashith Pathi and Anil Mukherjee, are part of a seven-member gang who have been promising medical and engineering seats to victims for huge sums of money. “We have arrested the two men and another accused, but four are still at large,” said the police.
As soon as the police arrested the duo, the parent, who came to know about the arrest went to the police station and filed his case
