N-E: A final year MBBS student’s body was discovered under mysterious circumstances next to his hostel. The student was studying at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH).
His body was discovered in mysterious circumstances next to his hostel (New Boys Hostel) building. The cause of the death has not been established as yet, however, it is being suspected that he fell from one of the windows (in the building) which do not have an iron bar protection. However, a foul play before the Post-mortem is conducted, has not been ruled out.
He has been identified as Ranbir Raj Deka of Nagaon, and was reportedly had an head injury-he body was discovered with bleeding from his head. There were two deep scars on his forehead and two cut marks were visible above his left eye.
As reported by Assamtribune, although the cause of his death has not been established as yet, it has been speculated that he fell from one of the windows as the building windows do not have protective iron bars. However, some suspect murder. Dr Ratan Kumar Kotokey, the Principal-cum-Chief Superintendent of the medical institute told this correspondent that it was premature to speak anything on the matter. “Post-mortem has not yet been done and police investigation is also on,” he said. Medical students too refused to talk on the matter.
