Applying for MCI Eligibility Certificate? Only Apply Online from now on, says council
MCI Eligibility Certificate is a mandatory requirement for a medical students pursuing MBBS abroad. In terms of Section 13(4B) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Clause 4(2) of the Screening Test Regulation, 2002, an Indian National/Overseas Citizen of India who desires to take admission into MBBS or its equivalent course in a Medical University/Institution outside the country, is required to obtain Eligibility Certificate from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi before leaving the country. It is not permissible for the holder of a primary medical qualification to appear in the Screening Test without obtaining an Eligibility Certificate from Medical Council of India.
At present, applications for eligibility certificates are being accepted by the council through offline and online mode, both. It has been decided by the regulator that from Monday, 18th November 2019, applications for eligibility certificates will be accepted through online portal only. The same will also hold true for registration of additional qualifications.

"All the persons concerned are requested to submit their application for registration of additional qualification and eligibility certificate, as the case may be, through online portal only from Monday, 18th November 2019. The application will not be received in offline mode from 18th November 2019," the notice further clarified
"In case of any problem in submission of the application, the applicant may contact at Helpdesk toll-free no.: 1800111154 (Extn. 201 & 235) or through email: support.helpdesk@mciindia.org," the notification issued by MCI Secretary, Shri RK Vats added
