Andhra Pradesh: Vijaywada to get a new AIIMS
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijayawada is soon to have a new medical college proposed by the Central Government.A premises has already been leased out by officials for the institution and recruitment of professors and other posts on an all India basis is underway at AIIMS.The MBBS seats are to be filled based on NEET scores.
The Institute is to start super specialty and PG medical Courses later as well. Medical and Health Minister, Kamineni Srinivas revealed that temporary arrangements had already been made for the commencement of classes.Once the permanent structure came up, the Minister said the college would be shifted to Mangalagiri Town.
AP Medical Infrastructure Corporation Chairman, R Lakshmipati said, “The government will start AIIMS in a leased building premises from the next academic year in Vijayawada for the convenience of students. As soon as permanent buildings constructed, we will shift medical college to the new premises, ” reports Hans India
