Uttarakhand: MCI inspects Govt Medical College, Srinagar, Pauri Garhwal
Garhwal: Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Government Medical College Srinagar Garhwal, an institution that faces acute faculty shortage and has seen a change of nine principals in the past nine years had the Medical Council of India(MCI), team drop last week in for a surprise inspection. The reason was the college's March application for approval of 47 post graduate seat additions to the college.
The unexpected arrival of the MCI team for inspection became a little unsettling for the college administration, that had just finished with a round with the Army Medical Corps (AMC),
Director Medical Education, Dr Ashutosh Sayana told the Pioneer that the team was there in response to the college's approval application for post graduate seats.
The college's demand comes as a surprise in the face of the faculty shortages plaguing the colleges.80% resident posts lie vacant at the college , presently
