SN Medical College to be affiliated to KGMU

Agra : SN Medical College Agra, is soon in the process of shifting its affiliation from Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar University and join hands with King George's Medical University(KGMU) in Lucknow. For the same, the college is in the process of submitting the proposal for the same.


Informing about the same SN Medical College principal Dr Saroj Singh said "A proposal for affiliation with KGMU has been prepared. It will be tabled in college council meeting scheduled on Tuesday. The approval of faculty members will also be sought in the meeting. Following this, the proposal will be forwarded to DGME office for final approval. After getting a No Objection Certificate from Agra University, SNMC will apply for affiliation with KGMU."


Preferring to remain anonymous, an SN Medical College faculty member informed TOI, "The university has not issued mark sheets to MBBS students of the last three years. Many students are suffering because of this. Every year, a large number of errors surface in the certificates of students."


GS Sharma, University Public Relations Officer told TOI, "The university administration is working towards proper implementation of academic calendar. We will abide by the orders of the state government regarding affiliation of SNMC with KGMU."


One of the first three medical colleges of the country SNMC presently, has 150 MBBS seats and 102 post graduation seats. The institution was established in 1854. SNMC has been affiliated to the Agra University since 1939, say sources.
