Uttar Pradesh: After the intervention of PMO, in an alleged ragging case at Motilal Nehru medical college, there was an initial team constituted by the institute to probe the matter. It was done at the behest of MCI ordering the college to look into the matter and submit a report.

However, the initial probe, which includes taking statement from the students of the college do not give any evidence on the matter. Probe panel head Dr R B Kamal told the TOI newspaper that the final report would be submitted soon after. before the concerned authorities. He, however, said by going through the video recorded statements of 132 students , none of the student had complained about ragging in the MLN Medical college premises. Following which, the probe panel has been recording statements of the 55th and 56th batches and even collecting their written statements. The entire procedure has also been recorded on video as well.

In addition, sources have implied that a written statement has not been submitted by the complainant yet. The probe panel has asked the MBBS student to submit his complaint in writing.

As reported by the MD team earlier, the matter is also being probed from the angle of presence of students at the college premise on a Sunday-the alleged day of ragging. As a step forward, the probing team is planning to study the attendance sheet of the two batch of students.

Accordingly an action will be taken on the matter soon. The panel has also hinted a strict action against the complainant, if the allegations prove to be false.
