Tragic Accident: 25-year old Madurai Medical College PG Medico dies in a road accident

Madurai: In an unfortunate incident, a 25-year old medico, pursuing Post Graduate course from Madurai Medical College dies after a bus she had boarded met an accident by hitting roadside signboard. 20 other passengers traveling in the same bus have faced serious injuries.

The young medico identified as Dr Maria Jose from Ernakulam who had recently taken admission at Madurai Medical College for her post-graduation. She had taken a private sleeper bus from her hometown for Madurai. The bus was nearing the Kodai Road toll gate when the driver lost control of the vehicle and had hit the iron post at the toll gate, around 5.30 in the morning.

The injured were immediately taken to the Government Hospital as well as to private hospitals by the locals and the police officials but Dr Jose could not be saved, reports the

A case of accidental death was registered with the Ammaiyanaickanur police.

The body of the deceased was sent to the Nilakottai Government Hospital for the post-mortem, reports the Hindu.

Her family was informed about the tragic incident after which they took the body of the deceased to her native place.
