Tanda Medical College ranked among top medical colleges of country

Kangra: Dr Rajendra Prasad Govt Medical College, Tanda, has been ranked among the top medical colleges of the country as per a survey conducted by India Today.


Talking to UNI on Tuesday, Institute Principal Dr Bhanu Awasthi said that overall the college has been ranked at 35th position across the country.

Every year, India Today-MDRA survey ranks medical colleges on seven parameters including infrastructure, academic excellence and governance. Overall, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has been ranked as first.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College is state-owned medical college and hospital located in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.

The foundation stone was laid by the then Chief Minister Sh. Virbhadra Singh on 23rd Oct. 1996.

First batch of 50 MBBS students was admitted in 1998. Since then, intake of MBBS students has increased to 100 seats.
